Vegan Whole Wheat Waffles with Chilled Strawberry Compote

Vegan whole wheat waffles
1 cup whole wheat flour
2 tbsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup almond milk
1/2 cup applesauce

Preparation: Combine the flour, whole wheat flour, baking powder and salt. Add the almond milk and applesause. Place 3/4 cup of batter on a greased waffle marker and cook for approximately 3 minutes or until golden brown. Top with Compote.

Chilled Strawberry Compote
2 cups fresh sliced strawberries
1 tablespoon Agave Nectar
1 teaspoon lemon juice

Lightly mash strawberries, not all need to be mashed, just a few to half. Add Agave and lemon juice, mix and put in refrigerator over night. Use chilled.
