Crockpot Lentil Dahl


1 cup lentils
2.5 cups water
Half yellow onion, diced
1 teaspoon Garam Masala
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1 tablespoon lemon juice
3 cups spinach

Combine all ingredients except spinach and lemon juice in a crockpot and cook on low for 6 hours. Lentils should be very soft, forming a paste like consistency.
Before serving, add lemon juice and spinach.
Serve with whole wheat pita bread for a complete protein meal.
