Food critic Frank Bruni had to give up much of his beloved red meat after receiving a gout diagnosis. He blogged some of his experiences. What he thought was going to be a huge sacrifice ended up being a life lesson.
“You never really quite appreciate just what a cornucopia of food alternatives exists — just how many culinary directions you can set off in — until a few are cut off and you’re forced to re-route yourself.
